THREE most wanted persons in Western Mindanao were hauled to jail by the local police in separate manhunt operations in the region last Tuesday, Police Regional Office 9 director, Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Luis D. Licup reported yesterday.
“This is part of our intensified operation to account for most wanted persons hiding in different parts of the region. We are making sure that Western Mindanao is no haven for persons hiding from the law,” said the Western Mindanao police director.
Two of the suspects who are both facing murder charges were arrested in Purok 3, Barangay Kundom in San Pablo, Zamboanga del Sur 2 p.m. Tuesday, the official said.
Licup identified the captured suspects as Julito Balatian, a 38-year old ‘kagawad’ of Bgy. Lumbayao in San Pablo and Jovellar Neri, 30, a local farmer.
Licup said that the two were arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by the Pagadian City Regional Trial Court Branch 19 with no bail recommended.
The third suspect identified as Marjun Cajansa, a 29-year old resident of Bgy. Sumbato in Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur was arrested during an operation in Purok China Town in Bgy. General Paulino Santos in Koronadal City, South Cotabato at 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Licup said that the suspect is the no. 1 most wanted person in Dimataling municipality where he is facing a case for frustrated murder. A warrant for the suspect’s arrest was issued by the San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur Regional Trial Court Branch 29 on October 29, 2015 with a P200,000 bail recommended for his temporary liberty.
