THREE high ranking officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP) were relieved from their posts for their failure to adhere to command policies of the organization particularly in implementing campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling and rouge cops in their jurisdiction.
Relieved were Police Regional Office (PRO)7 Director Brig. Gen. Valeriano De Leon; Bulacan Provincial Police Office (PPO) Director Police Colonel Emma Libunao and Police Colonel Gil Francis Tria, Deputy Director for Operation of Highway Patrol Group (HPG).
The relief of the three officers was announced by PNP Chief General Archie Francisco Gamboa.
De Leon was replaced by PBGen. Albert Ignatius D. Ferro, erstwhile Deputy Regional Director for Operations of National Capital Region Police Office.
In line with this, Gamboa reminded all regional directors of the PNP’s hard line stance against all forms of illegal gambling activities and other crimes against public morals in their areas of jurisdiction.
He said the relief and reassignment of police officials to key posts is based on evaluation of factors such as performance, campaign against illegal drugs, campaign against illegal gambling, campaign against rogue cops, and failure to adhere to Command Policies.
