LUCENA CITY--- Despite the strict implementation of the Enhanced Home Quarantine (ECQ) by the Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO), operatives  sucessfully arrested three drug suspects and seized some P2 million worth  of illegal drugs in three separate anti-drugs operations.

Quezon police director Col. Audie Madrideo named the arrested trio as Anthony Ryan Reyes, 40, government employee of a local government unit and resident of Bgy Poblacion, San Andres, Quezon;  Reymond Ruidera, 32, laborer and resident of Bgy. Tongohin, Infanta, Quezon; and Erwin Soto, 29, grab driver and resident of Bgy Biclatan, Dasmariñas.

In a report he submitted to Calabarzon police director Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao  Jr., Madrideo said the suspects were collared in separate drug buy-busts carried out by respective police stations here of this City under Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea, Tayabas City under Major Mark Amat and Infanta town under Major Joselito Araja.

He said the three police operations yielded some 102.56 grams of shabu with a street value of P2, 092, 224.

Violations of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 have been filed before the Provincial Prosecutor's Office against the suspects. Madrideo said their being busy in enforcing ECQ rule to prevent people from getting infected with coronavirus desease (COVID-19) does not necessarily mean that criminals can do their criminality freely.
