3 rebels surrender in Cotabato

POLICE Regional Office 12 director Brigadier General Alfred S. Corpus yesterday announced the surrender of three New People’s Army rebels to local authorities in South Cotabato over the weekend.

Timuwok Adam alias “Longhair/Wok,” Complie Sawang alias “Blata” and Jesie Lambong alias “Munsor/Proting” turned themselves over to police and military operatives in Sitio Datal Ligaw,  Bgy. Tasiman, Lake Sebu in South Cotabato.

They  surrendered one M-14 rifle, a home-made KG-9 machine pistol with 11 live bullets and an M-14 magazine with six bullets.

Corpus said the three were members of the NPA’s Platoon West under the Guerrilla Front Musa of the CPP/NPA’s Southern Mindanao regional unit operating in Sitio Datal Ligaw.

The rebels surrendered following talks with members of the Regional Mobile 12, Regional Intelligence Unit 12, the South Cotabato Police Provincial Office, the Lake Sebu Municipal Police Station, the Army’s 27th Infantry Battalion, 1002nd Brigade and the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency.
