ANGELES CITY -- Three motorcycle-riding men were killed in an alleged armed encounter with policemen in Barangay Anunas here last Saturday.
Major Rolando Doroja of Police Station 4 identified the dead suspects as Jerry slain, 26, resident of Barangay Pulung Maragul here and Leonardo Balatucan, 24, and Ronaldo Balatucan, 28, both residents of nearby Mabalacat City.
Investigation showed that policemen responded to information that four men on board two motorcycles were suspiciously roaming the streets of Villasol Subdivision on Good Friday.
Roving policemen were then sent to patrol the area but did not find the suspicious riding-in-tandems.
Along Texas St. in the said subdivision around 4 a.m. on Saturday, policemen saw four men riding two motorcycles. One of them was suspiciously carrying a flat screen computer monitor.
Policemen flagged them down.
While approaching the suspects, an intelligence operative saw Maglente and recognized him. He then told the other policemen that it was Maglente.
The suspect heard his name and panicked. He then drew his gun and fired at the policemen who returned fire and killed Maglente and two of his three companions.
The fourth suspect was able to escape on foot.
Doroja said Maglente has two standing warrants of arrest issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 58 and Branch 59 for robbery with force upon things.
Policemen seized a loaded cal. 9mm pistol, two loaded cal. .38 revolvers, 11 sachets of shabu, and two sachets of dried marijuana leaves from the suspects’ possession. The two motorcycles were also confiscated.
A team from the Scene of the Crime Operatives came to process the scene of encounter.
