SIMULTANEOUS anti-crime operations launched by the Bulacan Police Provincial Office over the weekend left three armed suspects dead in gunbattles with undercover officers and the arrest of 154 others for involvement in various felonies, local police director Sr. Supt. Chito Bersaluna said yesterday.
In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Chief Supt. Joel Napoleon Coronel, the official said that 18 of the 154 arrested were involved in illegal drug activities,
Bersaluna identified the slain suspects as alias “Glenn,”| a wanted motorcycle thief; Alexander Trinidad alias “Jr.,” and alias “Bay,” all tagged as priority targets whose names were included in their respective Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council watchlist.
The other suspects were arrested in buy-bust operations in San Jose del Monte City and the municipalities of Bulakan, Plaridel, San Miguel and Santa Maria.
Bersaluna said that the other suspects arrested were wanted for criminal charges, including theft, qualified rape, attempted homicide and illegal gambling.
