CABANATUAN City -- Four armed suspected drug pushers were killed in a shootout with undercover operatives during a buy-bust early yesterday morning.
Two of the slain suspects were identified as Rizza Fernando and Paul Santos, both of Bella Vita Subdivision, Bgy. Sta. Arcadia, here city while their two other cohorts remained unidentified.
City police head Lt. Col. Ponciano P. Zafra said the anti-drug operation turned bloody when the suspects drew their guns and fired at the police poseur-buyer and his back-up, who were not hit and were able to return fire.
Zafra said the firefight occurred in Bgy. Bitas at 3:40 a.m.
Probers recovered at the site a Glock 9mm pistol, a cal. 45 pistol, two cal.38 revolvers, two P500-bills used as marked money in the buy-bust, four plastic packs and 10 sachets containing alleged shabu, and the suspects’ two vehicles -- a Mitsubishi AUV and a motorcycle.
