FOUR most wanted persons in the country were arrested by agents of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in separate manhunt operations on Tuesday, officials told People's Tonight.
The four were identified as Avhel dela Cruz, a man wanted for robbery and tagged the no. 1 most wanted in Plaridel, Bulacan; Jonas Boller, the subject of a warrant of arrest for murder and is listed as the no. 6 most wanted person in Gandara, Samar; Joseph Ereno, a man wanted for statutory rape and child abuse; and Jonathan Oliva, a man wanted for theft.
PNP-CIDG director, Major General Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said dela Cruz was arrested inside the capitol compound in Barangay Mojon, Malolos City by members of the Bulacan CIDG and the Plaridel Municipal Police Station at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The suspect who was described as a member of a gang involved in robbery-holdup and car theft in Bulacan and other parts of Central Luzon was arrested on the strength of a warrant of arrest for robbery issued by Judge Caroline Rojas of the Malolos City Regional Trial Court Branch 84.
On the other hand, Boller was arrested by operatives of the Western Samar CIDG and the Samar police provincial office in Bgy. Hinayagan in Gandara municipality on the basis of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Feliciano Aguilar of the Gandara RTC Branch 41.
Ereno was arrested by Bulacan CIDG agents in Bgy. Poblacion, San Ildefonso town on the strength of a warrant for two counts of statutory rape and violation of Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law issued by Judge Maribel Mariano-Beltran of the Malolos City RTC Branch 79.
The suspect was also linked to incidents of robbery-holdup and carnapping activities in Central Luzon while Oliva was described as a member of a gang engaged in robbery-holdup, illegal drug trade and ‘Akyat-Bahay’ activities.
