4 ‘traffickers’ yield P90K shabu in Zambo

FOUR suspected drug trafficking personalities in Zamboanga City were arrested by the local police in a buy-bust operation on Thursday last week which led in the confiscation of nearly P90,000 worth of shabu, Police Regional Office 9 director, Brigadier General Jesus D. Cambay Jr. announced yesterday.

Three of the suspects were identified as Anton Sawadjaan,20; Benjie Tan,28; and Sarna Bani,30. The 4th was described as an 18-year old senior high school student.

According to Cambay, members of the Zamboanga City Police Station 10 led by Captain Albin Cabayacruz arrested the four during a sting in Zone 3, Claridad in Barangay Tumaga 1 p.m. last July 30.

Recovered from their possession were 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing some 13 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ valued at P90,000 and the boodle money topped by two marked P100 bills.

Cambay said that the 18-year old suspect is included in the drug watch list of the local police while the three are newly-identified drug personalities in Zamboanga City

All four are now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Cambay.
