LUCENA CITY —  National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents and City Social Welfare and Development Office personnel on Thursday night rescued five female minors during an entrapment operation resulting in the arrest of a homosexual pimp, inside a motel at Bgy. Domoit here.

NBI-Quezon Chief Dominador Villanueva said Mark John Salceda, 23, was caught red-handed with the marked P10,000 cash handed to him by a poseur customer as payment for the supposed sexual services of the five young girls, whose ages range from 15, to 17.

Villanueva said Salceda has been selling the girls for P2,500 each to selected customers using Facebook messenger as display venue while transaction is done thru cell phone.

“Since it was his birthday that day, Salceda offered a Valentine promo to the customers, the reason why he reduced the amount from P2,500 to P2,000 each,” said Villanueva.

He said the poseur customers erlier introduced themselves to Salceda as businessmen and engineers.

Agent Elbert Maliwanag said aside from the marked money, the suspect also yielded condoms which he was about to give to the customers for free.

During the investigation, Maliwanag said Salceda admitted the crime saying he has been doing it for two years already. But he clarified that he never forced the girls to do the job.

CSWD Officer Lourdes Maralit said two of the five girls denied their involvement in the sex trade but the three had already confessed.

Maralit said the girls will be placed under their custody for a period of time to undergo counselling while their parents will be informed of the situation.

The suspect who is now detained at the NBI-Quezon detention cell was charged with human trafficking and violations of Republic Act 7610 (“Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.”)
