5 pushers slain in Bulacan drug den

STILL unidentified gunmen forced their way into a suspected drug den in San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan early morning yesterday and summarily executed five suspected drug personalities, police said.

According to San Jose del Monte City Police Station commander, Lt. Col. Orlando Castil Jr., the bodies of the five victims were found in  a house-cum shabu den  in Barangay San Pedro early morning yesterday.

He said that a team of Scene-of-the-Crime Operatives (SOCO) from the Regional Crime Laboratory led by Lt. Mario Lazaro processed the scene where they recovered 10 spent caliber .45 cartridges, six spent cal. 40 casings, two live cal. .45 ammunition, four deformed slugs, two fired cal. 40 bullets and one big heat-sealed plastic packet containing seven small plastic sachets with suspected shabu.

Castil said four of the victims were identified as Juliet Fernandez, the alleged maintainer of the drug dive; her cohort 63-year old Norberto Oden; Manuelito Bergonio alias ‘Noknok,’32, a man included in the drug watch list of the local police and who has a pending case for carnapping and one alias Mel Diezel,’ a man whose name is included in the watch list of both the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The fifth victim remained unidentified as of press time, he said.

Castil said that an interview with relatives and neighbors of the five showed that they are known to be involved in illegal drug activities. He said that the bodies of the five were taken to a local funeral parlor for autopsy.

Police Regional Office 3 director, BGen. Joel Napoleon M. Coronel said he has ordered Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Col. Chito G. Bersaluna to launch a thorough investigation into the multiple murder case.
