Orduña said the four were nabbed by members of the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office under Colonel Wilson F. Lopez while allegedly engaged in vote-buying and vote-selling in Barangay Buer, Aguilar town.
Siezed from them were sample ballots, election paraphernalia and P443,300 in different denominations.
Meanwhile, Cebu City policemen arrested yesterday morning a 66-year-old woman accused of buying votes for reelectionist Mayor Tommy Osmena.
A report to Police Regional Office 7 director Brigadier General Debold M. Siñas said members of the Cebu City Police Station 1 led by Captain Armando Labora went to Sitio San Miguel in Barangay Lorega San Miguel around 9:10 a.m. to check an information from a concerned citizen regarding an alleged vote-buying taking place in the area.
Cebu City police director Colonel Royina Garma said several persons fled on foot after seeing the approaching officers who eventually arrested Andrea Fernandez.
The elderly woman yielded 13 pieces of P100 bills, one cellphone, a list of voters and sample ballots of the VOPK party led by Osmeña.
