POLICE Regional Office 4- director, Brigadier General Vicente D. Danao Jr. yesterday announced the arrest of 57 suspects, 37 of them known drug personalities and the seizure of nearly P900,000 worth of shabu during a string of anti-criminality operations in Cavite province.
According to Danao, the accomplishments were scored by the Cavite Police Provincial Office headed by Colonel Marlon R. Santos on Thursday and yesterday.
Recovered from the 37 drug suspects were nearly 121 grams of shabu worth around P823,000. The suspects were arrested in buy-bust operations conducted in the cities of Cavite, Bacoor, Dasmariñas, General Trias, Imus, Trece Martires and the municipalities of Ternate, Alfonso, Carmona, Indang, Tanza, Kawit, and Mendez.
Of the 37 drug suspects arrested, one is a ‘high-value target’ identified as Lorenzo Madgrigalijo who was arrested in a sting in Barangay Talaba 7 in Bacoor City Thursday.
The 25-year old suspect yielded around 100 grams of the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ worth P680,000.
All 37 suspects are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said Santos.
The other suspects were arrested on the strength of warrants of arrest for crimes which include rape, large-scale illegal recruitment, women and child abuse, acts of lasciviousness and estafa.
