CAMP Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet -- Police Regional Office-Cordillera (PRO-COR) continuously strikes hard on the campaign against illegal gambling and illegal drugs, arresting five gamblers and a drug pusher on Tuesday in Baguio City, PRO-COR director Chief Supt. Rolando Z. Nana said yesterday.
Chief Supt. Nana said police arrested five gamblers in the act of playing card game at Cardan Resto Bar on Kayang St., Upper Market, Baguio City.
Nana identified the suspects as as Jimboy Valdez de Guzman, 23, John Michael Frigillana Villanueva, 33, Rico Daway Wayang, 23, Ronel Bentoga Sayas, 22, and Bernie Bartolome Segundo, 43. However, Edwin Pregillana Hilario, 27, one of the gamblers, managed to escape.
Personnel of the Criminal Intelligence Unit and personnel of Baguio City Polioce Office (BCPO) Station 7 were able to confiscate a square table, five mono block chairs, a set of playing cards and P2,560.
In another operation, BCPO Station 2 and PDEA-CAR arrested a drug pusher, identified as Fernando Quiñones Carbonel, a.k.a. “Nanding”, 65, driver, of Sto. Naguilian Road, in a buy-bust operation at the jeepney terminal in Guisad.
Seized from him were six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and the buy-bust money.
The arrested individuals were placed under the custody of the concerned operating units while appropriate charges were filed against them in court.
