6 MECQ violators nabbed in Ecija

CABANATUAN CITY -- Six men, four of them reeking of alcohol and without face masks or travel authority were arrested during the conduct of modified enhanced community quarantine checkpoint operations in separate areas in Nueva Ecija on Wednesday.

In San Antonio, police led by Major Roderick Corpuz collared three motorcycle-riding men, for breaking the physical distancing protocols as they were flagged down at a MECQ checkpoint in Bgy. Sto. Cristo at 8 p.m.

Corpuz identified the three arrested suspects as Jayvee Vicencio, 23, Robin Valerio, 24, and April Villamayor, 24, all of Bgy. Sto. Cristo. They were all caught without face masks and reeking with alcohol.

In Zaragosa, police head Major Jaime Ferrer said they nabbed two men identified as Samuel Liwanag, 30, and Marvin de Jesus, 55, for violating the MECQ safety protocols being enforced by his men while conducting mobile patrolling in the area.

Liwanag, of Bgy. San Isidro was allegedly drunk and with no face mask when caught wandering on the streets during curfew hours at 11 p.m.

De Jesus, of Bgy. Sto. Rosario Young was flagged down at 10 p.m.while operatives were on mobile patrol in Bgy. Del Pilar. Police nabbed him after the motorcycle-riding suspect evaded authorities.

In Muñoz Science City, arrested was Rosbelt Reyes, 42, of Bgy. Poblacion West, Lupao, Nueva Ecija.

His arrest was made after checkpoint operatives caught the suspect driving a motorcycle without the required authority to travel, said city police head Lt. Col. Gerald Licyayo.
