7 Cagayan Valley crime suspects collared

POLICE Regional Office 2 director, Brigadier General Crizaldo O. Nieves yesterday announced the neutralization of seven top anti-crime targets in Cagayan Valley during a series of operations launched by the Cagayan Police Provincial Office on Saturday.

In a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, the PRO2 director said among those arrested by the Cagayan police headed by Colonel Ariel N. Quilang was Randy Casagan, a 35-year-old ‘kagawad’ of Barangay Andarayan in North Solana, Cagayan who is considered as one of the Top 10 Regional Drug Targets.

Casagan was arrested inside his residence by officers armed with a search warrant issued by Judge Jezarene Aquino of the Tuguegarao City Regional Trial Court Branch 5.

Recovered inside the suspect’s bedroom were 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu.

A 2nd suspect identified as Ronald Lingan,32, a tricycle driver from Bgy. Bauan East in Solana town was arrested in a buy-bust operation inside an eatery in Bgy. Dassun.

The 3rd identified as Jaylord Lagundi, a 33-year old mechanic from Caronan Street in Bgy. Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City was arrested on the basis of a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 10883 or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016. A P300,000 bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the accused.

A 4th identified as Jocris Respicio was arrested in his residence in Purok 5, Bgy. Sto. Tomas in Tuao municipality which was raided by the local police.  Officers recovered an unlicensed caliber .38 revolver with four live ammunition inside the suspect’s house.

Another suspect identified as George Ochinang, a 49-year-old farmer from Bgy. Iringan in Allcapacan town was arrested for illegal possession of a cal. .38 pistol with six bullets.

A 6th suspect, Vandolph delos Santos,23, a construction worker from Bgy. Sta. Maria in Gonzaga municipality was arrested by local policemen who raided his house. Seized inside the suspect’s residence were two plastic sachets containing dried marijuana leaves.

The 7th identified as Cristalyn Coballes,21, a resident of no. 29 Valenzuela Street, Centro 10 in Tuguegarao City  was arrested after she sold a packet of shabu to an undercover officer in Maya St. in Bgy. San Gabriel.

The suspect yielded the drugs, a marked P1,000 bill and a motorcycle with plate no. BQ1264.
