A week-long Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) in Pampanga and Tarlac provinces netted 432 individuals and confiscation of firearms, explosives and illegal drugs.
Brig. Gen. Rhodel O. Sermonia, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director, said that of the 432, 120 had standing warrants of arrest for various crimes, 68 were nabbed for illegal drugs, 92 for engaging in illegal gambling, and 152 persons for violation of special law and local ordinances.
Sermonia said the SACLEO held in Pampanga, Angeles City and Tarlac resulted in the seizure of 19 firearms in various calibers and dozens of ammunition, 3 hand grenades, 589 sachets of shabu, 11 sachets of marijuana, and P44,392 worth of bets in illegal gambling.
“Tuluy- tuloy pa rin po ang ating mga opensibang isasagawa these coming days to sustain our fight against all forms of lawlessness in the region at kami po ay patuloy ring humihingi ng suporta sa ating mga mamamayan upang mapagtagumpayan natin ang ating labang ito,” the PRO3 director said.
In the province of Pampanga, 168 persons were arrested — 36 wanted persons, 21 for illegal drugs and 111 for violation of special laws and municipal ordinances.
Three loose firearms were seized, along with cash bet amounting to P35,659 and several illegal gambling paraphernalia.
The Tarlac Police were able to arrest 73 persons for illegal gambling, 16 for illegal drugs, and 68 persons sought by law.
Some 62 sachets of shabu, 11 assorted firearms, 3 grenades, bet money amounting to P6,638 and different gambling paraphernalia were confiscated.
Authorities in Angeles City apprehended 16 wanted persons, 31 in anti-drug operations, 19 for illegal gambling, and 7 special law violators.
Confiscated from the suspects were five loose firearms, 192 plastic sachets of shabu, 1 ice plastic containing more or less 100 grams of shabu, 4 sachets of marijuana, and P 2,095 bet money.
“I am also glad to note that just last night, aside from our accomplishments in SACLEO, 3 notorious drug pushers included in the PNP-PDEA unified watchlist were arrested in Balagtas, Bulacan thru buy bust operations which resulted in the confiscation of 4 transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with an estimated weight of more or less 622 grams with a street value of P4,233,000, cash along with P3,000 marked money, one weighing scale, and one silver Mitsubishi Montero with plate no. RMU 731,” Sermonia added.
