CABANATUAN CITY – Seven medical front-liners – three male nurse and a female, two lady medical technologists and a male nursing attendant-- were among the 10 newly-confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Nueva Ecija, according to an update yesterday from the Nueva Ecija inter-agency task force on COVID-19.
With these additional 10 new cases, the province's total COVID-19 cases now stand at 40 with 15 recoveries and two deaths, it was reported.
The 10 new COVID-19 positive cases were recorded in Cabanatuan City with six cases, and one case each in the towns of Aliaga, Zaragosa, San Leonardo and Jaen.
Of the total 40 positive cases, this city topped the list with 14, followed by Gapan City with eight, three in San Isidro, then two cases each in General Natividad, Sta. Rosa, and San Antonio, and one each in the towns of Licab, Laur, Quezon, Cuyapo, Aliaga, San Leonardo, Rizal, Jaen, and Zaragosa.
The seven infected front-liners were described as Patient 31, a female nurse from Bgy. Padre Crisostomo here; Patient 32, a 38-year-old male nursing attendant from Bgy. Magsaysay Norte here; Patient 33, male nurse, 29, of Bgy. Bantug Bulalo here; Patient 37, a male nurse, 29, of Bgy. Mallorca, San Leonardo, who is now under quarantine at a Gapan City hospital;
Patients 38 and 39, both female medical technologists, aged 28 and 23 and from General Luna, Zaragosa and Bgy. Mabini Extension, this city, respectively; and Patient 40, a male nurse, 30, of Bgy. Don Inocencio, this city.
Amid the rising number of positive cases in the province, Gov. Aurelio M. Umali urged his province-mates to stay home at all times, to strictly practice physical distancing and refrain from going outside their houses if not necessarily needed.
