SEVEN New People’s Army rebels who surrendered to local military and police authorities in Mountain Province have taken their oath of allegiance to the local police last Tuesday and would avail of the government’s comprehensive livelihood assistance program, Cordillera Police Regional Office director, Brigadier General R’win S. Pagkalinawan announced yesterday.
In a report to Philippine National Police chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, the official said that the seven are all members of the NPA’s Kilusang Larangan Gerilya Marco under the NPA Chadli Molintas Command.
The seven,, all males, took their oath of allegiance to the Duterte government during ceremonies held at the Mountain Province Police Provincial Office headquarters in Bontoc.
They were identified only as alias ‘Ka Joey,’ Ke Berto,’ Ka Daniel,’ Ka Pani,’ ‘Ka Bishop,’ ‘Ka Rom’ and ‘Ka Flor.’
Pagkalinawan said that the seven also surrendered two Carbine rifles, two M-14 rifles, one M-16 automatic rifle and one Garand rifle to members of the Philippine Army’s 54th Infantry Battalion.
