8 nabbed in Angeles, Olongapo for drugs, illegal gambling

ANGELES CITY – Eight persons, including a woman, were arrested in this city and in Olongapo City for selling illegal drugs and engaging in illegal gambling over the weekend.

Report reaching Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Rhodel O. Sermonia said one Arnel Perez alias “Randy”, 48, was arrested by Angeles City Police Drug Enforcement Unit last Saturday in a buy-bust operation.

The suspect, who was renting a house at Xevera Subdivision in Calibutbut, Bacolor, Pampanga, sold a sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer and when placed under arrest, he yielded three sachets of suspected illegal drugs with street value of P13,600.

Reports to the PRO3 also state that Jayson Allego and Daniel Barrozo, both of legal age and included in the Olongapo City’s drug watchlist, were arrested in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Sta. Rita last Sunday.

Police confiscated from the duo four sachets of suspected shabu with street value of P2,300 and the marked bills used in the buy-bust.

The Olongapo police also arrested last April 24 Alvin De Dios, 38, and Roberto Ragaza Jr., 39, both in the drug watchlist, in a separate buy-bust operation.

The two yielded five sachets of heat-sealed plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 2 grams with estimated street value of P7,500 and the P500 marked money used by the poseur-buyer.

Also in Barangay Sta. Rita in Olongapo City, police arrested on April 24 one Christina Ablaza, Marck Ambrocio and Alvin Arpon who were caught in the act of playing card game called “tonghits”
