POLICEMEN arrested eight persons for defying the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) and engaging in illegal gambling in the City of San Fernando Pampangalast Monday.
Reports reaching Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Rhodel O. Sermonia state that the suspects were arrested in Barangay Calulut and Barangay Maimpis, both in the capital city.
Police are strictly implementing ECQ guidelines in the City of San Fernando like social distancing because the capital city already has 14 confirmed case of COVID-19 and 81 suspected cases.
In Barangay Calulut, the arrested suspects were identified as Herminia Soriano, 63; Lea Francisco, 42; Lovelyn Pido, 35; and Jenny Mangalindan, 61, all residents of Northville Relocation Center.
Confiscated from them were one deck playing cards and P1,058 in cash bets.
In Barangay Maimpis, policemen arrested Jerryco Retucson, Jun Fernando, Sherwin Muli, and Prudencio Bautista, all of legal age.
Seized from the sspects were a deck of playing cards and P875 bet money.
The four women and four men are facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 and for ECQ violation.
Meanwhile, one Bernie Dapitran, 20, was arrested in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Angeles City after he was seen flicking a plastic sachet that turned out to contain shabu around 6:15 pm also last Monday.
Policemen were about to accost the suspect for loitering in violation of the ECQ when they noticed that he threw something to the pavement. When the lawmen inspected, it turned out to be a small sachet of suspected shabu.
