Ambala members denounce NPA

TARLAC CITY -- About 98 members of Alyansa ng Manggagawang Bukid sa Hacienda Luisita (AMBALA) received Saturday relief packs from the police as they turned their backs against the NPA rebels.

Led by their Chairperson Leonida “Ka Luning” Trinidad, they also signed their Oath of Allegiance to the government and withdrew their support to the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army.

In a statement, Police Regional Director PBGen. Rhodel Sermonia said this is in line with the efforts of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict which was incorporated in their ongoing program dubbed “Rektang Bayanihan Bagong Pagkakaisa.”

“This program is for all who will return to the folds of the law so that we could show to them that indeed, the government cares for them and would give them a better life thru livelihood assistance so that they could start anew,” Sermonia added.
