NAGA CITY -- Two independent poll surveys here favored Camarines Sur gubernatorial candidate Rep. Rolando Andaya Jr. by over 50% votes over his rival, incumbent C. Sur Gov. Miguel Luis “Migz” Villafuerte, in the May 13 mid-term elections.

One survey conducted by the Camarines Sur Federation of Young Business Entrepreneurs (CSFYBE) last month with several hundred respondents in 35 towns and one component city of C. Sur showed Andaya garnering 58% against Villafuerte’s 38% with 5% undecided.

The other survey by Vox Veritas’ Christian groups listed Andaya with 56%, Villafuerte 38% and 6% undecided.

In known Villafuerte bailiwick in Rinconada district (C. Sur’s 5th district) consisting of seven vote-rich towns, former Villafuerte leaders have openly stated shifting their support to Andaya.

At the rally of Team Andaya aligned with the Nationalist People’s Coalition in the Rinconada town of Bula, C. Sur, around 5,000 people gathered to hear Andaya’s reform agenda last weekend.

Former Palsong, Bula punong barangay Osmundo “Munding” Obaldo urged local residents to back Andaya’s bid to effect change in the province’s governance.
