ANGELES CITY -- An 18-year-old male was gunned down in an alleged armed encounter with the police during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Balibago here last Tuesday.
In a report to Police Col. Narvin Mangune, acting city police director, Maj. Rolando Doroja of the police station 4 identified the slain suspect as Jamperson Soliman, resident of nearby Mabalacat City.
Police said the young man pulled out a gun from his sling bag after sensing that he sold shabu to a poseur-buyer.
He then allegedly fired twice at the poseur-buyer but missed. The policeman also pulled his gun and killed the suspect.
Police said they recovered a cal. .38 revolver loaded with four live ammunition and two empty shells, six pieces of live ammunition for cal. 9mm, 13 sachets of suspected shabu, and two sachets of dried marijuana leaves.
Also in Barangay Balibago, policemen arrested an American citizen identified as Jabulani Holloman Tabari, 42, by virtue of a court-issued warrant for violation of Republic Act 9262, the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
The Regional Trial Court Branch 59 here recommended a bail of P72,000 for his temporary liberty.
