Armed drug dealer caught in Maguindanao

AN armed drug trafficking suspect was arrested by police anti-narcotics agents in Datu Odin Sinsuat in Maguindanao on Monday afternoon, Bangsamoro Administrative Region Police Regional Office director, Brigadier General Manuel M. Abu said yesterday.

Esmael Mamadra, a 23-year old resident of Datu Odin Sinsuat yielded a pouch containing shabu, a weighing scale, several drug paraphernalia, a chamber-loaded caliber .45 pistol with a magazine containing 13 live ammunition  and five live M-16 ammunition when he was arrested past 12 noon Monday by members of the Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipal Police Station and the Maguindanao Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit, the official said.

Abu said officers led by Major Romel dela Vega arrested the suspect following weeks of surveillance. The suspect is included in the drug watch list of the Maguindanao police force since last year.

The suspect will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013, Abu said.
