AN ABSENT without leave policeman was shot and killed by an unidentified suspect in Sto Tomas, Batangas last Sunday.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Rossel DM Encarnacion, Sto Tomas City police chief, identified the victim as 37-year-old Roland Ocampo alias Rolando.
Encarnacion said the cop was shot several times by an unidentified suspect in Bgy. San Vicente, in this city around 4:50 p.m., using a short firearm.
The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of the body and was rushed to St. Cabrini hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead upon arrival by attending physician Dr. Jose Florencio Jalea.
Police investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, a duty security guard of Batangas City Grand Terminal, located in Bgy. Alangilan, here found a body lying on the ground with several gunshot wounds Sunday evening.
City police commander Lt/Col Julius C. Anonuevo identified the victim as Alejandro Pascual.
Pascual, a Transportation Development Regulatory Office, (TDRO-Batangas) personnel has some bullet holes in the body and was found lying on the ground at the impounding area of this bus terminal by the duty security guard named Dante G. Bao-as while manning the area around 6:30 p.m.
