Bataan attending to health workers’ needs

BATAAN Governor Abet S Garcia reiterated yesterday that health workers from the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) are properly attended to by the provincial government.

Gov Garcia said that the BGHMC's 282 strong health workers who are billeted in six hotels, with free accommodations for food, transportation and security are administered by the provincial government.

The governor, who keeps 24/7 monitoring the crisis, also lauded the health workers for risking their lives and limbs just to attend to the needs of those infected with the dreaded coronavirus disease.

Bataan Peninsula Times, a local weekly newspaper, dubbed the health workers as the “modern day living heroes and heroines and that they deserve respect and admiration for their bravery and heroism.”

Gov Garcia pointed out that although there are health workers infected with the virus during their duty “these health workers are the ones who have negative tests and have no exposure to those who are positive and may continue to serve.”

Garcia added that the provincial government is doing all it can to make their (health workers) situation better as he asked for their understanding.
