BATAAN -- The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) provided another P3 million financial assistance to the Bataan provincial government for residents severely affected by the enhanced community quarantine, bringing to P6 million the total aid donated by AFAB.
AFAB Administrator Emmanuel Pineda said the financial assistance aims to provide economic relief to the displaced workers of the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) particularly those under “no work, no pay” status living in different municipalities and city.
“We wholeheartedly offer our help, knowing and trusting that the province of Bataan will serve as a way to reach those in need — especially the displaced FAB workers,” Pineda said.
For his part, Bataan Governor Albert Raymond Garcia assured that the fund shall be added to the allocated budget of the provincial government and the Department of Labor and Employment for FAB workers in low-income households.
Last week, AFAB gave similar assistance to the Mariveles municipal government headed by Mayor Jocelyn P Castañeda.
