CAMP Gen. Miguel Malvar, Batangas -- Two suspected drug peddlers were nabbed by joint operatives in a buy-bust operation in SM Bicutan, Taguig City, provincial police PIO chief Senior Insp. Hael P. Luma-ang said.
Batangas police director Senior Supt. Edwin A. Quilates identified the suspects as Lahmodin Amil Mentang, alias Mhodz, and Babson Kituin Adam.
Quilates said on September 13 at 4 p.m., combined personnel of BPIB-DEU, RDEU NCRPO & PDEA RO 4A Calabarzon conducted a buy-bust operation in SM Bicutan, Taguig city, against the suspects. Initially, the transaction was set to take place in Sto. Tomas town. However, the subject kept on changing the place of engagement which eventually ended up in SM Bicutan, Taguig City, resulting in the arrest of Mentang and Adam.
The operating teams recovered 14 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu marked, one large transparent zip lock plastic bag, one green ECO bag 12 bundles of boodle money, a brown envelope, a white Samsung cell phone and a silver Toyota Innova (ZHP-657).
It was further found out that the arrested suspects divided the transaction, which is supposed to be one kilo of shabu, into 700 grams and 300 grams, in which case their cohorts are still in possession of the remaining 300 grams. The operatives then launched another follow-up operations which led to the arrest of Mentang and Kituin after they delivered the remaining amount of illegal drugs to Batangas City.
They seized one brown ECO bag containing five plastic sachets suspected shabu, a brown paper bag containing eight bundles of P100s, fake P1,000 bills, a black sling bag, a green Nokia basic cellphone and a white Cherry Mobile basic cellphone.
In summary, a total of 1.150 kilograms of shabu with an estimated street value of P7,820,000 were confiscated during the series of operations
Based on police file, on August 29, 2018 at about 10 p.m. personnel of BPIB-DEU conducted a buy-bust operation against illegal drugs in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) RO4A under control no. 10005-082018-1494 in Bgy. Alangilan, Batangas City, that resulted in the arrest of Norhaya Mamakal Mamantal, alias Aya, who came from Pasig City to Batangas City to deliver shabu. It was, however, found out based on the cellphone conversation with the police asset and the source of the contraband, that the seized evidence were picked up by the arrested suspect from Bacoor City, Cavite. Confiscated were P120,000 fake marked money, small brown envelope, three plastic sachets of suspected shabu bought from the suspect and confiscated from the suspect weighing more or less 150 grams and with an estimated street value of PHP 1,020,000, one color blue cell phone box, one backpack bag and one Samsung basic cellphone.
