A BARANGAY chairman and an alleged member of a crime gang on Monday were hauled to jail by agents of the Police Regional Office 2 conducting anti-illegal gun operations in the region, a report to PRO2 director Brig. Gen. Jose Mario Espino said.
One of the suspects, Nestor Dulnuan, the 52-year-old chairman of Bgy. Alicia in Aglipay, Quirino, was arrested after policemen who raided his house in Purok 7 around 7:20 a.m. on Monday recovered a homemade cal. .38 pistol.
The second suspect identified as Marlon Dulnuan, a 34-year-old suspected member of the “Nabayyag Criminal Group” operating in Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya provinces, was arrested 10 minutes later in another raid in Purok 4, Bgy. Alicia.
The raiders recovered one cal. .38 revolver with four live ammunition and a fragmentation grenade inside Dulnuan’s house.
The third suspect, Marlon’s father Herminio, 58, a resident of Sitio Tapsoy in Bgy. Alicia, was not around when policemen raided his house and recovered one homemade cal. .38 revolver with six live ammunition.
All suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act of 2013.
Marlon will also be charged for violation of RA 9516 or illegal possession of explosive.
