OPERATIVES of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Regional Field Unit 3 (CIDG-3) arrested a 38-year-old man for drugs, illegal possession of firearm and for pretending as a member of the Philippine National Police.
Confiscated from Manuel Maurice Detabali were one cal. 9mm pistol with two magazines loaded with live ammunition, seven sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia, a PNP non-commissioned officer ID, an Inter Agency Task Force front liner ID, a t-shirt with “Pulis” marking, and an upper camouflage uniform with PNP patches.
CIDG-3 regional officer Col. Amante Daro said Detabali was arrested in an entrapment operation along Balubad St. in Barangay Anunas, Angeles City around 9p.m. last July 22.
Also seized from the suspect were the marked peso bills and “boodle money” used in the operation.
It was learned that Detabali is a resident of Barangay San Antonio in Sasmuan, Pampanga.
Daro said an entrapment operation was planned against the suspect after the CIDG-3 received a complaint against the latter for estafa and falsification of public documents.
The suspect is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591 for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, RA 9165 for illegal drugs, and Articles 315 and 177 of the Revised Penal Code for fraud and usurpation of authority.
