Bulacan cops apprehend 48 for various offenses

AGENTS of the Bulacan Police Provincial Office over the weekend apprehended 48 persons for various offenses including violation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the province, local police director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe said yesterday.

Thirteen of the suspects were arrested for illegal drug activities while another was jailed for a murder case, the official said in a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia.

Cajipe said seven of the arrested drug traffickers were caught in buy-bust operations in San Jose del Monte City and the municipalities of Calumpit, Balagtas, Bustos and Pandi last Friday.

He identified the suspects as Allan Clemente,39; Mark Christian Echivire,20; Anfernie Angeles,23; Roberto Cruz Jr.,31; Leonardo Guttierez,54; Ernesto Natividad,42; and Ronald Reyes,35.

Recovered from the suspects were 12 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, three plastic sachet containing dried marijuana leaves and the marked money they received from undercover officers.

Four other drug personalities identified as Percival Alegria,35; Rocky Permejo,42; Jeanne Molina,26; and Jr. Lugtu,29, were arrested in separate anti-narcotics operations in San Jose del Monte City and Baliwag on Saturday and yesterday.

Confiscated from the suspects were 33 plastic sachets containing the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ and the buy-bust money.

Cajipe said another wanted robbery suspect identified as Dennis Viloria,23, was arrested in Barangay Gumaoc West in San Jose del Monte City by the local police on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marie Claire Victoria Mabutas-Sordan of the Antipolo City Regional Trial Court Branch 97. A P60,000 bail was recommended for the temporary liberty of the suspect.

The Bulacan police director said 44 other suspects were arrested in a string of anti-illegal gambling operations in the province since last Friday.

The suspects were found to be engaged in illegal ‘tupada’ and mah-jong, card and billiard games in Meycauayan City and the towns of Baliwag, Marilao,  San Ildefonso and Paombong.
