Bulacan cops gun down 3 armed drug dealers, jail 8

A STRING of buy-bust operations in Bulacan this week led in the killing of three armed drug traffickers following gunbattles with undercover officers and the arrest of eight others, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe announced yesterday.

Two of the suspects identified as Reynaldo Bagtas and Franco Pantua were killed in an entrapment operation which ended up in a shootout inside Block 13, Lot 54 in Sitio Malabon, Barangay Sto. Cristo in San Jose del Monte City on Thursday, the official said in a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia.

Cajipe said the two suspects engaged undercover officers from the San Jose del Monte City Police Station headed by Lieutenant Col. Gil Domingo in a gunfight after they sensed they were dealing with a cop.

Operatives returned fire killing the two suspects who yielded a caliber .38 revolver and a home-made shotgun or ‘sumpak’ with several live ammunition, 13 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, a plastic packet with dried marijuana leaves and the marked money paid to them by the poseur prior to the 8 p.m. Thursday encounter.

Cajipe said another known drug trafficker in the province identified as Gerry Flores alias ‘Bojie’ was arrested during a sting in Bgy. Tartaro in San Miguel municipality around 9:05 p.m. Thursday.

The suspect whose name is included in the Unified Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Philippine National Police Drug Watch List yielded eight sachets of shabu and the marked money he received from an agent.

Around 7:30 p.m. last Tuesday, undercover officers from the Norzagaray Municipal Police Station headed by Lt. Col. Jaime Quicho Jr. shot dead armed drug dealer Vergel Laude Hernandez during an anti-narcotics operation in Sitio Upper, Bgy. Bigte, said Cajipe.

The slain suspect yielded a cal. .38 revolver with a live ammunition, three plastic sachets containing the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine’ and a marked P500 bill paid to him by the poseur.

Separate buy-bust operations in Plaridel and Marilao municipalities on the same day led in the arrest of five suspects identified as Jerry Herrera Flores and Abbey Sabater,  both know drug personalities in Plaridel; and Laurence Romo, Cristin Ramos and Virgina Celeste, all from Marilao.

Recovered from the suspects were 36 plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, the buy-bust money and a digital weighing scale.
