Bulacan cops gun down armed drug dealer, arrest 4

BULACAN policemen on Saturday shot dead an armed drug trafficking suspect in San Rafael municipality and arrested four others in separate anti-narcotics operations yesterday, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe said.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director, Brigadier General Rhodel O. Sermonia, the official identified the slain suspect as Virgilio Santos alias ‘Jun,’ a man included in the drug watch list of the San Rafael Municipal Police Station.

Cajipe said the suspect exchanged fire with undercover officers of the San Rafael Municipal Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit headed by Lieutenant Col. Laurente Acquiot in Barangay Caingin around 10:45 p.m.

The gunfight erupted shortly after the suspect sensed he was dealing with a policeman. Cajipe said the officers returned fire killing the suspect on the spot.

Recovered from the possession of the slain suspect were one caliber .38 revolver with several live ammunition and spent cartridges, a small heat-sealed plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, the marked money paid to him by the poseur and a motorcycle with plate no. 6116 UD.

Cajipe said separate buy-bust operations in Bulakan and Pandi municipalities yesterday also resulted in the arrest of Benjie Torres, 26; Edgardo Abuan, 46; Michael Manalaysay, 41; and Anthony Hapa, 21.
