A POLICE buy-bust operation in San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan on Monday evening resulted in the killing of an armed drug dealer and the arrest of six others, Bulacan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Lawrence B. Cajipe said.

The official said suspect Elmer Palma was killed when he traded shots with undercover officers of the San Jose del Monte City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit after realizing he was dealing with a poseur in Igay Road, Barangay Santo Cristo at 8 p.m. Monday.

Cajipe said two cohorts of Palma identified as Kristofer Risen Galang and Rodina Bulatao were arrested during the operation.

Recovered during the sting were one improvised shotgun with several spent shells, 15 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and the marked money paid to Palma by the agent.

The Bulacan police director said four other men identified as Bernardo Antonio, Bayani Datu, Argei Arrangez and Arturo Toledo, a traffic enforcer from the Metro Manila Development Authority, were also arrested near the scene after they were caught in the act of engaging in a ‘tupada’ or illegal cockfight

Appropriate criminal charges are already being readied against the arrested suspects, said Cajipe.
