THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) has opened a new field office in Nueva Ecija.
The new office will be part of the new Government Center Building located in the Business Hub and Government Center of Palayan, Nueva Ecija.
The Palayan City Business Hub (PCBH), which was opened in 2017, is a 3-hectare PEZA-accredited area that is home to several government offices, business processing offices, educational institutions, and a hotel, which aims to provide opportunities for locals. It was designated last year as an information technology park, which is also a special economic zone.
“We are one with the Palayan City government and the Nueva Ecija province in their march to progress. We are bringing our services closer to the people to ensure the ease of doing business,” the BI said.
The nearby BI offices like the BI Clark Field Office and the BI Dagupan Field Office had an almost 60 percent average increase in collection in 2018, which the BI believes meant “more demand for immigration services in the region.”
The Nueva Ecija Field Office (NEFO) will cater to clients from Nueva Ecija and the nearby province of Aurora.
BI NEFO acting alien control officer Kryse Mende thanked the Palayan City government for its assistance in setting up the office.
“We could not have done this without the support of Palayan City Mayor Adrianne May Cuevas. She allowed us to set-up our office in the PCBH free of charge to widen our reach, and at the same time provide convenience to our clients,” Mende said.
The BI Nueva Ecija Field Office is located at the 2nd floor of the PCBH, along with the Department of Labor and Employment, Department of Foreign Affairs, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Department of Information and Communication Technology, and several other national government agencies.
