Cagayan Oplan RACE nets most wanted felons, druggiex

THE Cagayan Police Provincial Office has launched its own Oplan RACE or Revitalized Anti-Criminality Enforcement over the past three days leading to the arrest of dozens of most wanted persons and drug personalities in the province, a report to Police Regional Office 2 director, Brigadier General Crizaldo O. Nieves said yesterday.

Cagayan police director, Colonel Ariel N. Quilang told Nieves that the province-wide operation netted some of Cagayan Valley’s most wanted men and 50 others involved in illegal drug activities.

“This is part of our commitment to neutralize organized crime and lawless elements who continue to hamper the progress and development of the province,” the official said.

Quilang said among those arrested during the 3-day operation were Marichie Espada and Alvin Pascua, both ‘high-value individuals’ in the province.

He said that the two were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Aparri, Cagayan which led in the confiscation of 10 pieces of heat-sealed plastic sachets containing shabu, the boodle money topped by a marked P500 bill.

Espada was identified as the Top 10 drug target in the entire Cagayan Valley region.

Two other identified as Michael and Maria Milagros Luis were arrested in Tuguegarao City during a sting which resulted in the recovery of two plastic sachets with shabu and the marked money paid to them by a poseur.

On the other hand, suspect Juan Soriano was arrested during an entrapment operation in Iguig. The suspect yielded a sachet of shabu and a marked P500 bill.

Quilang said the other suspects arrested include Roberto Co Jr., a most wanted man in Ballesteros municipality where he is facing a rape case and Christian Rich Piano, a man wanted for a frustrated murder case in Aparri.

Two others identified as Severino Calagui and Nicolas Manuel, both  wanted for acts of lasciviousness respectively in Peñablanca town and Tuguegarao City were also arrested.
