Cagayan’s 25 most wanted captured

AT least 25 most wanted men in Cagayan were arrested by the local police in a week-long operation aimed at accounting for all persons with warrants of arrest and have long been hiding in the province, a report to Police Regional Office 2 director, Brigadier General Angelito A. Casimiro said yesterday.

“This is part of our ongoing operation to track down all wanted persons in Cagayan and ensure that the province won’t be a safe refuge for criminals,” said Cagayan Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Ariel N. Quilang.

Quilang said one of those arrested as a result of the May 18-25 manhunt operation was Ernesto Pablo, the no. 4 most wanted person in Cagayan Valley.

Pablo, the subject of a warrant of arrest for statutory rape with no bail recommended was tracked down by the local police in his hiding place in Aparri municipality.

The others are Jonathan Andrada, the no. 1 most wanted in the province where he is facing cases for two counts of rape and two counts of acts of lasciviousness until he was arrested in Solana municipality; Nico Jay Brooks,  the subject of a warrant of arrest for qualified theft and tagged as the 10th most wanted man in Cagayan province, also arrested in Solana;

Rodel Cabasay, the 9th most wanted in Tuguegarao City where he is the subject of a warrant of arrest for violation of the new anti-carnapping law; Maximo Uberita Jr., a man wanted for rape and acts of lasciviousness in relation to the anti-child abuse law, arrested in Sanchez Mira where he is known as the municipality’s 9th most wanted man;

Danilo Padirayon, the no. 2 most wanted in Ballesteros municipality where he is facing a case for four counts of statutory rape John Paulo Gallamoza, another rape suspect tagged as the 5th most wanted in Ballesteros;  Rodel Bumatay, the 10th most wanted in Gattaran and the subject of a warrant of arrest for attempted homicide; and Florentino Rigon Jr., the 7th most wanted person in Lal-lo municipality.

Quilang said Rigon has been convicted for violation of RA 10591 and sentenced to a maximum of 8-years in jail.

The official said 15 others wanted for cases such as qualified theft, estafa, acts of lasciviousness, reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property, serious physical injury and homicide and robbery were also arrested during the week-long operation in different places in the municipalities of Alcala, Sto. Niño, Iguig, Baggao, Aparri, Allacapan, Lasam, Sanchez Mira, Sta. Teresita and Tuao and Tuguegarao City.
