STEPPED-UP enforcement of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Calabarzon region on Wednesday and yesterday led in the apprehension of over 2,000 violators in Cavite province alone Police Regional Office 4-A director, Brigadier General Vicente D. Danao Jr. said.
Danao said he has ordered all police forces in Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces to fully implement Philippine National Police chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa’s order to intensify their enforcement of the ECQ and arrest, jail and file criminal charges against the offenders specifically those who are violating the liquor ban, curfew hours and other ECQ protocols.
Cavite Police Provincial Office director, Colonel Marlon R. Santos said more than a month after they enforced the ECQ in the province, violators continue to be apprehended by his men.
A 24-hour operation in the province from Wednesday to early morning yesterday netted 1,123 ECQ offenders and seven others who are wanted for various crimes.
Among those apprehended were 480 persons who violated the curfew hours, 16 for drinking liquor, 36 for non-cooperation and resisting arrest and the rest for having no barangay quarantine pass and for other violations of the ECQ guidelines.
The Cavite police director said that six anti-narcotics operations in Dasmariñas City and Cavite City during the same period led in the arrest of three known drug dealers and the seizure of over P10,000 worth of shabu and dried marijuana leaves.
