Chainsaw operator nabbed

A 41-YEAR-OLD chainsaw operator in South Cotabato was arrested by the local police for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition early morning Friday, Police Regional Office 12 director, Chief Superintendent Eliseo T. Rasco reported yesterday.

Suspect Romeo Besiño, a resident of Purok Bonifacio, Barangay San Vicente, Sto Niño, South Cotabato was arrested right inside his residence which was raided by the local police headed by Senior Inspector Sherwin Panaguiton on the strength of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 issued by local Judge Marlo Brasales.

The 5:15 a.m. Friday raid resulted in the confiscation of  two home-made M-79 grenade launchers, 12 rounds of caliber 40mm ammunition, two home-made 12-gauge shotguns and  a cal. 9mm semi-automatic pistol with 15 live ammunition.
