Chinese KFR member, most wanted collared

PHILIPPINE National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) director, Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo yesterday announced the arrest of two of the Philippines’ most wanted, one of them said to be linked to a Chinese gang abducting their compatriots for ransom or forcing them to pay their casino or PGO-related debts.

In a report to PNP chief, General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, the PNP-AKG director identified the three as Anjo Javier, tagged as the no. 1 most wanted person in Pasay City and suspected Bicol-based New People’s Army member Christopher dela Cruz.

Estomo said that Javier was arrested by officers from the AFK Luzon Field Unit led by Sergeant Rhene Bogay at the Farmer’s Market in Cubao, Quezon City at 12 a.m. last Sunday on the strength of a warrant of arrest for robbery issued by Judge Eugenia dela Cruz of the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 117.

The official said that apart from his suspected connection with a Chinese kidnapping-for-ransom gang, Javier, a resident of no. 416 Tengco Street, Pasay City is also wanted for his involvement in a series of robbery-holdups in Metro Manila.

On the other hand, dela Cruz, a 29-year-old resident of San Rafael, Masbate was tracked down at the Pasacao Port in Pasacao, Camarines Sur past 8 a.m. Monday by AKG operatives led by Major Ryan Jay Capurcos.

Estomo said that the suspect who is the subject of a warrant of arrest for murder issued by Judge Teofilo Tambago of the Masbate City RTC Branch 46 was arrested following a tip from an informant.

He said that officers placed the suspect under arrest shortly after he disembarked from the M/V Tres Reyes. The suspect is wanted for the kidnapping-for-ransom of one Francis Maullion in Camarines Sur, the PNP-AKG said.
