Cop in trouble for losing gun

A 24-YEAR -OLD  rookie cop in Siquijor province found himself undergoing administrative investigation after he reported that he lost his service firearm to a thief while he and his live-in partner were sleeping inside their house last Monday evening.

Police Officer 1  Gerlit Paalisbo, a member of the Lazi Municipal Police Station in Siquijor claimed he lost his newly-issued 9mm semi-automatic pistol to the thief. Still, Police Regional Office 7 director, Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas, ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.

The cop will find himself facing administrative charges for grave negligence in connection with the loss of his service pistol. The PRO7 leadership likewise ordered that he be ‘black-listed’ from the list of those to be issued firearms in the future.

PO1 Paalisbo claimed that his issued caliber 9mm Canik ‘Striker Fired’ semi-automatic pistol with serial no. 76472-18 BG 11265 with a magazine containing 14 live ammunition was stolen by a thief who broke into their house in Sitio Cambalagyo in Barangay Campalanas probably last Tuesday morning.

He said  before going to bed around 10 p.m. last Monday, he hanged his sling bag containing the firearm, his wallet with P5,000 in cash and other pertinent documents beside their window.
