Cops gun down 5 drug suspects in Negros clashes

FIVE armed drug suspects were killed in separate gunfights with undercover officers in Negros Occidental.

Police Regional Office 6 director Chief Supt. John Bulalacao said four suspects, one of them identified as Alson Aguirre, on Monday morning exchanged fire with anti-narcotics agents in Bgy. Sta. Teresa in Manapla municipality.

The suspects, who were believed to be members of a drug syndicate operating in the province, had just conspired to sell shabu to an undercover agent when they sensed the entrapment and pulled out their guns and started firing.

Back-up operatives returned fire killing the suspects who yielded several loaded high-powered firearms and dozens of live ammunition and a sizeable amount of suspected shabu.

The other Monday, another buy-bust operation conducted by agents of the Talisay City Police Station resulted in the killing of a top drug trafficker in the city.

Bulalacao identified the slain suspect as Rusty Constantino alias “Agi,” a resident of Purok Paraiso, Sito Sibucao in Bgy. Banago, Bacolod City.
