CABANATUAN CITY – A husband-and-wife-tandem caught peddling illegal drugs in this city headed the list of 11 suspected drug traffickers who were nabbed in a series of buy-bust operations conducted in separate areas in Nueva Ecija on Saturday.
The successful anti-narcotics operations came a day after Col. Marvin Joe C. Saro assumed his post as new officer-in-charge of the Nueva Ecija police provincial office on Friday here.
Cabanatuan city police head, Lt. Col. Arnel M. Dial said his anti-illegal drug enforcement unit led by Captain Diego Montes nabbed Romnick Sandaan, 32, tricycle driver, and his wife Cherry, 32, online seller, both of Block 18, Lot 7, Cecilia Village, Bgy. M.S. Garcia during a buy-bust operation at the suspects’ house at 6:40 p.m. Seized from the couple were three plastic sachets containing shabu and P500 in marked money.
Also nabbed in another drug sting inside her house was Rosalie Cando, 32, jobless, of Purok 2, Bgy. Samon.
In Jaen, police head Major Baltazar Corpuz identified three of the nabbed drug suspects as Marcelo Odtujan, 40, butcher, of Bgy. San Josef (Navao), Francis Torres, 43, jobless, of Bgy. Dampulan, and Edilberto Ablaza, 46, of Bgy. Don Mariano Marcos.
Torres was tagged as number five in the drug watchlist of the Jaen police.
In San Jose City, Lt. Col. Heryl L. Bruno identified two of those arrested drug suspects as Gerry Esguerra, 50, and Princess Mae Fronda, 24, both of Bgy. Maligaya, Science City of Muňoz.
During the drug bust which was conducted in Bgy. Sto. Tomas, Bruno said the duo resisted arrest and sped off on their Rusco multi-cab vehicle, prompting lawmen to give chase until they were cornered and arrested in Bgy. Baloc, Sto. Domingo.
The other three drug suspects were arrested in the towns of San Isidro, Llanera and Aliaga during separate operations.
They were identified as Jeffrey Dela Cruz, 33, of Bgy. Sto. Cristo, San Isidro; Michael Racquel, 27, of Bgy. Victoria, Llanera; and Marvin Ladignon, 36, of Bgy. Polilio, Cabanatuan City.
