A POLICE anti-narcotics operation in Lanao del Norte on Friday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a man and his wife after they conspired to sell a kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million to an undercover officer, a Police Regional Office 10 report said yesterday.
PRO10 director, Brigadier General Rolando B. Anduyan identified the suspects as Jamalodin Musa Odin,39; and his wife Asna Minalang Odin,32, both residents of Purok 3, Barangay Calibao in Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte
The PRO10 director described the male Odin as a ‘high-value target’ in Northern Mindanao.
According to the official, the two were arrested during a sting in Barangay Sigayan at12:30 p.m. Friday.
Officers led by Lieutenant Colonels John Francis Encinareal and Kenneth Balisang, Major Jonan Bañas, Captain Ronaldo Angelo Rivel and Lieutenant Erwin James Tabaquero led the operation in the area which is known to be infested by heavily-armed rebels.
Anduyan said the couple was arrested shortly after they took the boodle money topped by a marked P1,000 bill from the undercover agent and gave the latter a bag containing the so-called ‘poor man’s cocaine.’
The couple’s motorcycle with no plate number was impounded by the local police.
