Meanwhile, the Police Regional Office 3 has launched the “White Ribbon” campaign to urge families who can afford to buy their basic needs to waive the food packs being distributed to barangays and instead give them to the poorest of the poor.
“This program will not only discourage looting and burglary, it will also ensure that those families who really need to be assisted because of the impact of ‘no work, no pay’ policies of establishments will be the ones to get the relief goods,” PRO3 director Brig. Gen. Rhodel O. Sermonia said.
Sermonia also appealed to well-to-do families to adopt a poor family by supporting them with basic necessities during the time of the Enhanced Community Quarantine.
