A 21-YEAR old family driver accused of slapping a colleague while under the influence of liquor found himself in deeper trouble when police officers who accosted him yesterday morning in Cebu found him in possession of a loaded unlicensed pistol, Police Regional Office 7 director, Chief Superintendent Debold M. Sinas said.
Suspect Ert Ryan Cabatana, a resident of Lower Tabok, Mandaue City yielded a caliber 9mm semi-automatic pistol with a magazine containing six live ammunition when he was arrested along Manuel L. Quezon Avenue in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City, said Sinas.
According to the official, complainant Emmanuel Pacalioga, 46, a resident of Bgy. Ibabao in Cordova, Cebu sought the help of the local police after the suspect allegedly slapped him in the face while holding the butt of his firearm tucked under his waistline past 3 a.m. yesterday. Alfred Dalizon
A team of policemen composed of Senior Police Officer 3 Carlos Narca, PO3 Jose Caratao and PO1 Hermogenes Lastimoso responded and arrested the suspect after they found him in possession of a gun.
Sinas said that the suspect will be charged for violation of the Omnibus Election Code, physical injury and grave threat.
