‘Drunk’ PA man held

PALAYAN CITY -- An Army staff sergeant was nabbed for allegedly firing his gun during a drinking spree with friends here on Sunday night.

Police Colonel Leon Victor Z. Rosete, provincial police chief, identified the arrested soldier as Staff Sergeant Allan Juarigue, 35, assigned with the 6th Mechanized Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, Fort Magsaysay, this city.

The alleged indiscriminate firing incident occurred in Purok 8, Bgy. Militar at 6:30 p.m.

Investigation showed the suspect was drinking with his friends when he suddenly fired his cal. 45 pistol, hitting the fence of Irene Garabiles.

Probers recovered from the crime scene a fired cartridge case and a deformed bullet of a cal. 45 pistol while the gun used by the suspect was turned over to the police by Staff Sergeant Larry Moga, said Rosete.

He said the suspect was brought to the police station here for proper disposition.
