Ecija cops probe indiscriminate firing amid ECQ

SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija -- Police are investigating an indiscriminate firing incident which occurred at the wee hours of the morning here on Friday.

Town police head Major Roderick Corpuz said an unidentified man with a gun who was allegedly seen walking in Purok 5 in Bgy. Luyos suddenly fired four times and fled on foot at 1:30 a.m.

Corpuz said his men went to the area to investigate and found four empty slugs for Cal.45 pistol.

He said they are now conducting follow-up investigation for possible identification and arrest of the suspect.

The gun-firing incident which greatly alarmed the peaceful community occurred amid the implementation of the government's enhanced community quarantine to contain the spread of COVID-19.
