FOR 3 STRAIGHT DAYS, ECIJA IS "COVID-19-FREE" WITH NO REPORTED POSITIVE CASE CABANATUAN CITY -- For three consecutive days, Nueva Ecija is "COVID-19-free,"with, no positive case recorded starting from April 20 to 22 this week.
The Nueva Ecija inter-agency task force on COVID-19 said it was a "welcome respite" as it reported on its Facebook page posted today that for three days, the COVID-19 tally remained the same, at 42 positive cases with 15 recoveries and three deaths.
It also noted the rising number of suspect-COVID-19 patients who tested negative of the deadly virus. At least 325 have turned out negative while 124 patients have pending results and 194 others have not been tested yet.
Of the 694 suspected cases, 451 have been tested, 89 were admitted in hospitals, 124 patients already discharged and with 30-PUI-related deaths.
Gov. Aurelio M. Umali, head of the NE-IATF-Covid-19 task force reiterated to his province-mates to heed the government's call to stay at home to win the fight against an invisible enemy like COVID-19.
It would be recalled that Nueva Ecija recorded its first two positive cases, one each in this city and in San Isidro, more than a month ago on March 21, or five days after President Duterte imposed a Luzon-wide lockdown to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
